EQUANS is looking for a Senior IT Business Analyst – SAP to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £60,000-£65,000, dependent upon skills and experience, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The Senior IT Business Analyst SAP role involves identifying business change improvements for current and new digital applications and ecosystems within the ERP framework. This position will lead complex SAP initiatives to align SAP solutions with broader business goals. As a key senior member of the business change, project demand, and delivery teams, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business and technical aspects to facilitate digital transformation for EQUANS IT within the SAP environment.

In this role, you will work on diverse initiatives and projects within the ERP Portfolio, spanning various business sectors, including Digital & Energy Services, Sustainable FM, Places & Communities, and Zero carbon initiatives. As a crucial part of the Solutions Management Team, you will collaborate with architects, analysts, business partners, project managers, and technology specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Collaboration: As a Senior IT Business Analyst – SAP, you are expected to assume a leadership role, leveraging your specialised knowledge in the SAP domain to enhance the organisation’s use of SAP solutions. This involves understanding and aligning SAP capabilities with business requirements, providing insights into SAP-related decision-making, and collaborating with relevant teams to ensure the effective integration of SAP solutions into strategic initiatives
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Utilise your SAP domain expertise to align IT solutions, particularly those involving SAP, with overarching business goals. Collaborate with project managers and senior management to ensure that SAP solutions contribute effectively to the organisation’s objectives. Your insights will be crucial in contributing to problem-solving and shaping the direction of strategic ERP initiatives at an organisational level
  • Technical Expertise: Your role will demand the application of advanced business analytical methods and tools such as requirements gathering, validation, gap analysis, process optimisation and the formulation of comprehensive business cases. With a focus on? SAP related processes and functionalities, you will produce professional documentation and analytical artifacts for both the business and technical community
  • Communication Skills: You will be adept at articulating complex SAP concepts to non-technical stakeholders and may be involved in presenting to executive leadership. Your communication prowess will play a key role in ensuring effective collaboration and understanding across diverse teams. Exceptional stakeholder management, and documentation skills are also paramount in this role, enabling you to effectively influence technical decision[1]making related to SAP and contribute to the strategic realisation of optimal business outcome
  • Business Transformation and Process Improvement: With your wealth of experience, you will play a central role in refining and enhancing business analysis processes related to SAP. Your focus on business transformation and process improvement within the SAP/ERP domain will contribute significantly to boosting operational efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organisation, aligning methodologies with industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: In your capacity as a Senior IT Business Analyst, you will take on an active role in assessing and managing risks related to SAP at a broader organisational level. Your seasoned judgment will be instrumental in identifying potential risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and ensuring a comprehensive approach to risk management within SAP projects

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and facilitate the development of business requirements, integration, and data concepts in Finance, Procurement, and supply chain, aligning them with EQUANS technology ecosystem capabilities
  • Collaborate closely with third parties to address EQUANS technology ecosystem capabilities, integrations, and design, ensuring adherence to IT standards, security, privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements in HR; Payroll; Contract mobilisations; Finance and Procurement Services
  • Oversee operational and governance support in all ERP Services, including process and tool governance, management, and continuous improvement of support services
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders in HR; Finance and Procurement, influencing them towards cost-effective and strategic solutions
  • Manage BA activities and management information analysis for the office of the CIO, focusing on HR; Finance and Procurement Services
  • Collaborate with IT Business partners on bids and new business non-standard initiatives related to HR; Payroll; Contract mobilisations; Finance; Procurement and supply chain
  • Lead the project team through the design and planning phase in HR; Finance; Procurement; and supply chain, building strong networks within IT and across the wider business
  • Support and deputise for the Principal Business Architect as required, particularly in matters related to HR; Finance and Procurement Services
  • Analyse and understand business problems and potential solutions in HR; Contract mobilisations; Finance; Procurement; and supply chain with the Business Stakeholder or Sponsor
  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional workshops to address complex business or systems issues in HR; Finance and Procurement, influencing and innovating while adapting to a dynamic business organisation
  • Assist, guide, and influence the Business Sponsor toward designing solutions in HR; Finance and Procurement Services in the organisation’s best interests, in conjunction with other project team members
  • Deliver project estimating, planning, business case development, risk/issue management, and progress reporting, specifically for HR; Finance and Procurement initiatives
  • Develop business cases in HR; Finance and Procurement, covering estimated benefits, costs, and design options
  • Conduct detailed business requirements analysis in HR; Finance and Procurement to elicit, prioritise, organise, catalogue, and manage multiple levels of requirements
  • Document project requirements, both functional and non-functional, with a focus on SAP system functionalities in HR; Contract mobilisations; Finance; Procurement; and supply chain
  • Deliver project estimating, planning, business case development, risk/issue management, and progress reporting in HR; Finance and Procurement
  • Act as the single point of expertise on the project, liaising with EQUANS IT to resolve issues uncovered, and reporting on results into the Lead Project Manager, with a specific focus on HR; Finance and Procurement domains

Who are we looking for?

  • Educated to Degree level and would be advantageous in a numerate (Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or Scientific) or Computer Science subject. Or equivalent experience
  • Will have a BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or similar and SAP Certification (functional or technical)
  • It would be advantageous to be further qualified in financial accounting, digital building ecosystems, system integration and data analysis, but this is not essential
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP modules, functionalities, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in SAP implementation, configuration, and customisation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAP usage in the business context, enabling the recommendation of alternative solutions with cost/benefit analysis
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems beyond SAP, focusing on integration and interoperability
  • Hands-on experience in analysing and optimising business processes within an ERP framewor
  • Strong functional knowledge of other P2P products and its integration with SAP
  • Understanding of how Coupa influences SAP processes
  • Cross-modular experience in SAP with a comprehensive understanding of integration points with other key modules and 3rd party solutions
  • Experience of Finance, HR, Marketing, Energy, Digital Communication, CRM and Technical Services Platforms will be highly advantageous
  • Possesses excellent communication skills and stakeholder management expertise, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels to ensure seamless collaboration and understanding
  • Experience of project delivery, where the Business Analyst has led the delivery of an initiative will be highly advantageous
  • the ability to use a variety of techniques to undertake analyse and deconstruct problems e.g. SWOT, Benefits and Gap Analysis, Requirements prioritisation, process reengineering, business context and data analysis
