Equans is looking for a Projects Coordinator to join our team in Edinburgh on a permanent basis.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The role holder will report to the Projects Manager at the RIE and will be responsible for the delivery of work on site and delivered to the highest standards. The role will also include assisting with scoping out and pricing work, develop & coordinate programmes, interacting with our client and communicate the progress of all work being carried out. There will be an expectation to deliver all work to the highest safety standards with our approved procedures, within budget and the appropriate timescales as well as delivery of work on the work week plan.

What will you deliver?

  • Responsible for their team and hold the team accountable for their actions on site in            accordance with our policy’s and our site procedures.
  • Responsible to ensure that all their staff are briefed and follow all site procedures be it, written or verbal as well provide feedback to their staff on standards and expectations as and when required as well as record keeping of their findings.
  • Organise and supervise all relevant Subcontractors to deliver our Projects on time and within budget to the highest standards.
  • Scope out requested works and develop solutions to suit the client.
  • Regularly meet with directly employed staff (collectively irrespective of their trade function and individually), subcontractors and suppliers to discuss performance.
  • Assist and complete HAI-SCRIBES in line with Clients needs and ensure these are completed and works progress.
  • Ordering of materials and ensuring their safe delivery to site and communicating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and lead times for our onsite works.
  • Risk assessing work, ensuring that risk assessments are written and recorded, and work is carried out safely in accordance with written procedures.
  • Responsible for promoting flexible working across all disciplines, to ensure maximum efficiency with regard to use of manpower and resources.
  • Actively identify continuing professional development requirements and demonstrate progress towards enhancing knowledge and training.

  • Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
  • Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work.
  • Management of a multidiscipline team.
  • To work with the relevant operational leads to ensure the service delivery across the full range of services is continually improving.
  • Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
  • The ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion.
