Equans is looking for an HR Business Partner to join our team on a 12 month FTC. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

This role can be based from an Equans office with occasional travel to our Bevis Marks site 

This role holder will report to the Head of HR of Equans UK&I and support the Central Functions division. The post holder will be responsible for working alongside the management and senior leaders to support the localised people agenda. They will also be accountable for delivering on HR activities which form part of the employee life cycle and wider Equans UK HR agenda.

What will you deliver?

  • Supporting the Senior Leadership and Management team with any potential sales wins or contract losses. Effectively handling all people related activity such as data requirements, communication strategies, TUPE and divestment activities or recruitment,
  • Supporting the Head of HR in carrying out key activities in line with the end-to-end employee journey within the central functions, such as pay review, bonus and LTIP’s cycles.
  • Management of Employee Relations activity within the division, supporting with the upskilling of the management population, effective handling of ER cases with a focus on identifying potential risks to the business and working alongside the legal advisor to navigating the best outcome.
  • Creating and delivering Line Manager training on key people related topics such as Employee Relations, Performance and Absence Management.
  • Acting as an ambassador and champion of the organisational values (ARTSAccountability, Respect, Team Spirit, Service Focused). Supporting to embed the business’ wellbeing and DE&I agenda in line with UK initiatives. Working alongside the Head of HR to understand any up-and-coming initiatives and creating a plan to land these effectively within the division.
  • Supporting the Head of HR in the development of a localised HR Agenda which is fit for purpose and supports the divisional strategy to capitalise on its business potential through its people. Ensuring that plans retain a clear focus on the commitments to our workforce – the attraction, development, and care of our people.
  • Reviewing people data using Power BI and HR system reporting to identify risks and make a positive contribution and change to the businesses people workforce in delivering operational excellence.
  • Acting as a trusted partner attending monthly management meetings, conferences, and localised events. Positively contributing to the business mission through delivery of presentations, supporting HR related activities and providing opportunities for shared collaboration.
  • Working alongside the Centres of Excellence teams to support with new change initiatives, key projects, or activities. Providing insights into localised requirements within the division which support in the communications, roll out and embedding of activities which in turn enhances the experience for our people.
  • Supporting with the UK Recognition scheme by facilitating decision panels at a localised level and actioning outcomes.
  • Coaching line managers in all people processes to ensure best practice and employee engagement is enhanced

Who are we looking for?

  • Solutions focused with the ability to positively influence stakeholders to make decisions which are in line with the Equans values and wider business strategy.

  • Is pro-active and detailed focused. Enjoys data mining to present factual and evidence-based information to support with identifying opportunities for change or areas of risk.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to confidently present to a range of stakeholders
  • A team player, demonstrating care and respect and who sets an example for others to follow.
  • Strong ER experience and able to create, develop and deliver people content
  • Experience in an HRBP role across a large-scale multisite contract or wide range of stakeholders
  • Track record in HR and change management
  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice
  • Experience of complex grievance and disciplinary issues
  • Commercial acumen and credibility
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels and build effective relationships, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Analytical skills with the ability to define and measure impact and value of interventions
  • Confident with data with the ability to manipulate data, in different formats, derive insights, commentary, compelling fact-base
  • Numerate with strong verbal reasoning skills
  • Strong experience of using HR systems, Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work to tight deadline and with conflicting priorities
