Equans is looking for a Technical Manager to join our team in the South of England on a permanent basis. This is a full time, hybrid role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

 

The role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of compliant technical services across the TTCE Contract Portfolio, delivering continuous improvement, Quality and Health and Safety, along with ensuring EQUANS Safe Systems of Work are managed and adhered to by our Mobile Operational Teams and Sub-Contractors.

The review of documentation following PPM and reactive works to ensure compliance, timely remedy of business critical, life safety and compliance issues affecting the customers assets. This will include the production of remedial quotations and management of remedial works.

Response to Internal / External audits to ensure that corrective action plans are put in place along with the provision of supporting documentation to evidence closure.

The post holder will have significant expertise in managing complex and high-risk engineering systems in a corporate, and commercial environment and will use that experience to help drive up standards across the TTCE Contract.

Work within the TTCE team to define, implement, monitor and audit suitable Safe Systems of Work as it relates to specified areas of work. By doing so the post holder will be helping to ensure that EQUANS’ operations are compliant across a range of different disciplines and against a range of different legislation/standards.

In addition, the role will provide Subject Matter Expertise and support the TTCE Team with projects and day to day operational support, including advice and guidance on best practice standards, system and operational asset performance Improvements.

Review Sub-Contractors quotes, method statements and CDM (Health & Safety File). Also monitor ongoing works being undertaken by our Mobile Operational Teams and Sub-Contractors

Management of Peterson Contract site based in Middlesborough providing support to the Site Manager with monthly visits

Line management responsibility of static based engineer based in Edinburgh.

What will you deliver?

  • Provide technical/Operational support – Operates effectively in a complex organisation where there are conflicting demands on time and resources
  • Support the Contract Team
  • Establish excellent working relationships with internal client contacts
  • Establish excellent working relationships with external clients
  • Review of documentation following PPM and reactive works to ensure compliance
  • Ensure timely remedy of business critical, life safety and compliance issues affecting the customers assets
  • The production of remedial quotations and the management of remedial works
  • Response to Internal / External audits to ensure that corrective action plans are put in place along with the provision of supporting documentation to evidence closure
  • Other operational and management activities as appropriate
  • Co-ordinating Operational resource to deliver operational effectiveness
  • Proactively and professionally manages client relationships, delivering superior customer satisfaction at all levels
  • Ensures compliance with all company programmes, processes and procedures
  • Ensure both the EQUANS and Client Health and Safety policies are clearly understood and implemented throughout the team
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness
  • Escalates any major issues appropriately
  • Actively demonstrate and support the company values and operating principles
  • Understand the culture, issues and business strategy / direction of the client / contract
  • Develop strong relationships with key operational contacts and can deal effectively with them
  • Understand EQUANS strategic direction and deploy agreed actions to align contract performance with key company deliverables
  • Deploys necessary actions to ensure effective implementation of change management strategies

Who are we looking for?

  • Educated to HND level or equivalent through experience in a technical discipline (M&E)
  • Preferably member of relevant Institutions
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of working in the M&E, FM and TFM environments
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc)
  • Sound knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Accident and Incident investigation training or experience including report writing
  • Relevant Trade Qualifications or Apprenticeship
  • Permit to Work, Risk Assessment and Method Statement training or experience
  • Possesses extensive operational management experience, ideally in a in Blue chip environment
  • Has strong customer focus
  • Possesses proven people management experience
  • Has strong operational and performance management focus
  • Has strong communication skills
  • Is numerate and analytical and financially aware
  • Has strong planning and time management skills
  • Can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Has excellent staff coaching skills
  • Demonstrates a strong concern for order and quality
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the basic principles of M&E systems and soft services
  • Demonstrable abilities and clear experience in supplier contracts negotiation
  • Has significant operational management experience
  • Has experience of operating within an outsourced environment
  • Possesses experience of financial planning and analysis
  • Can demonstrate experience of working with quality systems
  • Can ideally demonstrate awareness of contract law / employment legislation, particularly health and safety best practice / legislation
  • Preferably demonstrates experience of operating within the facilities management arena
