Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in at Sullom Voe Terminal Power Station in Shetland on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the mechanical engineering and maintenance at the Plant in co-operation with the Electrical and C&I Engineers. The goals are to ensure optimal long-term availability of the plant, to preserve the value of the assets and to meet set health and safety, environmental and financial targets.
What will you deliver?
- Responsible for efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities associated with the plant, including the stores and workshops management
- Responsible for managing Technicians and Contractors working for the site ensuring their health and safety, as well as their performance
- Required to respond to plant and equipment breakdowns both during normal working hours as well as outside normal working hours
- Implement maintenance activities, during planned and unplanned shutdowns to ensure optimal long-term availability of the plant and to preserve the value of the facility within approved budget
- Manage maintenance statutory inspections ensuring all documentation is completed and up to date

Who are we looking for?

Possess SVQ III to SVQ IV or HND Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) qualifications

Possess an IOSH (or equivalent) safety qualification, training will be given
Familiar with Permits to Work systems

Knowledge and experience of associated repair methods in mechanical machinery and materials

Experience in supervising own team and contractors to deliver maintenance plan and agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Experience in working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System

Demonstrate a good understand of health, safety and environment legislation relevant to heavy process or power industry
