EQUANS are recruiting for a Facilities Supervisor to be based at Portsmouth Combined Court, PO1 2EB. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competative salary.
Role Overview
The FM Supervisor will have regional oversight of a number of properties within a region. This role will be aligned to the HMCTS Facilities Manager and will be responsible for delivery of the cleaning service across each of the properties and fist line supervision of the cleaning teams to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in line with contractual specification
For this role you must undergo BPSS level vetting. Part of this includes DBS clearance therefore ability to pass is essential.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as ‘hands on’ lead and front-line supervisor for the cleaning team to deliver a quality service
- Act as first port of call for the client in matters relating to the soft service
- Supervisory duties for between c.30 and c.60 direct reports depending on the area
- Attend cleaning audits with the client and ensure appropriate corrective action
- Monitor the quality of work and complete quality control sheets as necessary
- First line soft services complaint resolution
- Consumables control in line with the budget requirements
- Ensure adequate stocks of supplies of cleaning materials and other consumable items are available
- Training, development and performance review of direct reports
- Respond in a timely manner to any issues with the delivery of routine and non-routine cleaning services.
- Organise cover for cleaners when they are on leave/absent within the cleaning budget
- Complete and submit timesheets for the cleaning team, manage/approve cleaning team holidays
- Ensure teams use materials and power cleaning equipment in a safe and economic manner, and in accordance with their instructions for use.
- Ensure teams store equipment in designated storage areas which should be maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
- Ensure personal tasks and the duties of the cleaning team are carried out in accordance with safe working practices within statutory, Company and recommended guidelines.
- Undertake training as necessary to maintain the requirements of the service.

Who are we looking for?
- Experience of industry/public cleaning services (essential)
- Previous experience of supervising a cleaning team in multiple locations (essential)
- Knowledge and understanding of COSHH (essential)
- Understanding of basic H&S principles (essential)
- Driving Licence (essential)
- Ability to plan time and tasks to ensure efficient delivery of the service
- Ability to instruct others on the use of cleaning materials and equipment
- Able to motivate a team to attain a consistent specified standard of cleaning
- Able to organise cleaning staff to meet work schedules
- Good communication and customer care skills
- Work as a team player and pass on knowledge to others
- Flexible approach to working hours and travel
- Self-motivated
