Equans is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Hunterston, Scotland on a permanent basis for our EDF contracts. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview of work:

The Site Project Engineer will engineer and oversee the execution of project work planning on a varying scale of construction activities in a nuclear defueling environment.
The position will review design and tender documentation, evaluate contractor bids, and oversees construction progress and scheduling. Additionally, the Construction Project Engineer provides technical support to construction staff under the supervision of the Hard Services Manager and Project Lead.
• Experience working in a Customer Service focused background.
• Experience in building modification, refurbishment and civil works.
• Experience in dealing with local authorities & Building Control.
• Understanding and experience of construction and integration with facilities management within the building services industry.
• PC literate with experience of MS Office applications i.e., Word & Excel
• Ability to motivate and empower staff.
• Exceptional administration and time management skills.
• Must be confident with dealing with high workloads.
• Prepare and attend client & contractor meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate risk assessments / method statements are reviewed and in place for all work undertaken.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
• Interact positively with the client and their representatives, proactively sharing information with others, providing solutions for present and future projects.
• Facilitate and chair project meetings and regular progress meetings as required.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including Project Definition Document, Quality Plans and other documents as needed.
• Produce and review technical specifications.
• Support the process of contractor selection and contract placement.
• Ensure technical queries are managed in accordance with process and procedures.
• Prepare work packages including preparation of work order cards in accordance with site specific requirements.
• Prepare commissioning documents and act as test team leader where appropriate.
• Manage all costs to deliver projects and maintenance work to budget capacity

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Excellent communication skills
Good level of numeracy and literacy
Engineering/Construction qualification to City & Guilds / HNC / HND level
Formal Project Management Training
Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and other business applications
Work experience in high safety risk work sites.
Site Management or Supervisor Safety Training
Working knowledge of UK and EU safety and environmental regulations

Work experience in radiological / nuclear environments
knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD
NEBOSH qualified
