Equans is looking for a SHEQ Project Manager to join our team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary banding of £45,000 – £50,000, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The role holder will ensure that assigned projects and contracts within Technical Services North operate to the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environment management through being accountable for the delivery of the SHEQ strategy and engagement to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of a positive health and safety culture.

Provide strategic guidance and leadership to ensure that TS meets its statutory safety requirements and to develop and implement industry leading responsible business initiatives.

What will you deliver?

  • Management of RB & SHEQ across the Contract and Project area to ensure all work is undertaken to external and internal standards, guidelines and statutory requirements including CDM 2015.
  • Work with the Sr RB & SHEQ Managers, SHEQ Solutions BPs, RB, CDM and Central SHEQ to utilise and maintain adequate systems to meet all statutory and EQUANS obligations.
  • To deliver training and assist with the development of the project team with regards to all aspects of SHEQ
  • Reviewing of risk assessments and method statements considered high risk projects.
  • Ensuring temporary works are completed in line with EQUANS procedures and legislation
  • Ensure all reportable data (Near Misses, Accidents, RIDDORs, HiPos, LTI’s, Incidents, LSV/MSV, Waste, Water, Energy, Social Initiatives, Volunteering etc) is recorded accurately on the contract and Projects
  • Act on the findings of Visits and Audits that relate to CDM Activities– providing feedback on trends and investigation of preventative measures.
  • Actively promote and drive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and our Responsible Business (RB) agenda across the CDM Area.
  • Engage with the Safety Ambassador programme and the Responsible Business Champions programme

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience of a CDM role within the construction, energy sector, FM or related industries is essential.
  • Understanding of construction, energy and FM technology and methods
  • Demonstrable experience relevant SHEQ legislation
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety – essential
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; British Safety Council Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health; City & Guilds Level 5 (NVQ) Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice; NCRQ Level 6 Diploma in Applied Health and Safety or equivalent qualification or qualification by experience
  • Chartered membership of IOSH
  • Experience of fire prevention and fire management

This role includes a DBS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.
